How many of you had sound sleep last night? How many of you present here are physically and mentally perfect? Who is responsible for all these problems? Answer to this we will get only when we look to our surroundings. So I am here to speak for the motion – Our country INDIA looks dirty.
I must point out, worthy chairman and noble judges, that improper drainage system, badly constructed roads and specially, the pigs loitering on the heaps of garbage create an ugly picture of India .
Even the water of the so-called godly rivers– the Ganga and the Yamuna- receive so much of the sewage water of the big towns, so much of rubbish, so many highly contaminated effluent from factories that these sacred rivers are SACRED no longer but are more of health hazards.
I would like to strongly oppose my worthy opponents who may say that India is a tourist attraction and is well known as panorama of beauty because I would rather say that India WAS well known for its natural beauty and historical places. Moreover, we are talking about present India , not the past.
I would like to raise a question to my worthy opponents that aren't they aware of the surroundings of India‘s historical places? Even one of the wonders of the world –TAJ MAHAL is losing its beauty due to the prevailing environmental conditions. Well, I agree that some steps have been taken to improve its conditions but sorry to say that the conditions haven't improved much.
My opponents may say that India is a land of saints but I would like to ask them why different scams are talking place at high levels. Why corruption has become the rule of the day?
Friends, Let us join our hands to make an unfailing effort to turn our country India into a paradise.
