GLOBAL STUDY ABOUT SOCIAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP “EXPEDITION WELT”

(Feb. 18-19, 2006)

Three students (Jan Holzapfel, Tim Lehmann & Matti Splecker) studying Economics at the University of Witten/Herdecke, Germany who are doing an expedition around the globe for a period of 8 months visited Eco friends at Kanpur on Feb 18 & 19, 2006. They’re looking for sustainable best practices initiatives founded by social entrepreneurs in developing countries (LICs + MICs). They want to interview the Social Entrepreneurs all around the world. They plan to visit countries in Asia, Central America, South America and West Africa. Additionally they want to set up dialogues via chat, forum and mails between scholars in Germany and social entrepreneurs in each visited country.

Their work is being supervised by Prof. Baecker, a famous Economist and supported by Konstanze Frischen, Ashoka Germany, the Schwab Foundation (World Economic Forum) and Markus Strauch etc. Expedition WELT is represented in Germany by GEO which publishes the renowned German magazine on Science, Culture and Travel.
