Our country, India , is blessed with natural beauty - unsurpassed and immortal. This beauty is not only worth appreciating and being inspired by, rather, the kaleidoscope of natural beauty of India depicts the dynamism and utility of its countrymen. River Ganga is an apt example of our rich heritage which stands like a bedrock to support and sustain our present as well as our future.

River Ganga is the cradle of human civilization since time immemorial. Many Indians depend on this river for their physical, spiritual and psychological sustenance. Ganga is a perennial river and people have great belief in its power of healing and regeneration.

It would be no exaggeration to say that the purity and sacredness of river Ganga is incomparable and unparalleled.

But, few people doubt the exquisite splendor of river Ganga . They believe that Ganga has been polluted, but, to me, it is merely a false image.

From Himalayas to Bay of Bengal , river Ganga is traversing through a number of courses and variety of places. But, the fact is, it goes into the Bay of Bengal as clean and pure as it came from the Himalayas .

It has also been found that sunlight plays an important role in purifying water. With sunlight the renewable, inexhaustible resource is constantly purifying water. Moreover, running water does not get polluted as does stagnant and underground water.

Turtles are universally acclaimed scavengers and hence natural guardians of the river. River Ganga is often strewn with corpses and carcasses, no doubt, but these turtles feed on these corpses and carcasses and hence nullify pollution. They are natural pest controllers too.

Throughout the ages, a number of pilgrims and thousands of devotees have been taking the holy dip in the Ganges , but the purity and sacredness of Ganga is same as ever.

It is a well proven fact that Ganga water does not get contaminated as other sources of water.

In a nutshell, it can be said that river Ganga has proved to be a benefactor for all and a mode of sustenance for everyone.

hus, the purity, sanctity and piousness of river .Ganga must never be put in doubt because more than a heritage and a river, Ganga is a life for us.
