Eco Friends, an environmental NGO founded in 1993, is looking for volunteers such as you. It is one of the very few organizations working on the issue of river Ganga, providing an information link and research-based action for a greater impact at policy and grassroots level. Eco Friends has unique expertise in the areas of river pollution, groundwater pollution and other urban environmental issues.
As a volunteer with Eco Friends, you will not be slotted into rigid roles. Based on your skill sets and interests, you could be doing any of the following:
• Project-based primary and secondary research on various themes.
• Community mobilization in Kanpur.
• Monitoring Ganga and Ganga Action Plan.
• Writing articles on various environmental issues for our website.
• Event management (coordinate lectures, presentations, workshops, seminars, schools’ programs, Ganga cleaning etc.).
Eco Friends engages in raising awareness on the issue of Ganga pollution and in bringing grass-root realities to the fore. We network, campaign and exchange information with groups and individuals spread nationally, on Ganga pollution issues. Our tools for efficient action are campaigning, education, policy analysis, research and training.
Your sojourn at Eco Friends will provide you with both practical and theoretical insight into the Clean Ganga movement. You will have the chance of working on critical issues of river and groundwater pollution, related environmental and health issues and enhance your professional skills!
If you feel your passion and commitment can make a difference to the state of the river Ganga, we would be happy to count you as part of our Clean Ganga movement. We promise that the time you would spend with us will be both a great learning as well as fun experience.
